The Unraveled Teacher is Alessandra Timmins, a Florida teacher who has taught since 2016, on-level through AP, and who built the AP® World History lessons she wished she had been handed.
How it started
As a new teacher with an AP class, the course requirements felt overwhelming, and the hand-me-down materials I was given only added to that overwhelm. They weren't built for someone new to teaching AP World, so I ended up building my own teaching materials that made sense to me.
What a topic is
Every topic shows what to teach, how long it takes and where the links are. Then come the lecture slides, the guided notes with a teacher key, the printable speaker notes and the activities, each with its answer key. Most topics follow that same layout, so once you have taught one you know your way around the rest.
Where things are now
Once I began sharing my work with other teachers, I knew I was onto something. Today the membership holds Unit 0 through Unit 9, 267 lesson pages and 779 downloads, and the lessons are updated whenever the College Board changes the CED.
